Dyslexia

Dyslexia is a learning difficulty that primarily affects the skill involved in accurate and fluent word reading and spelling. Characteristic features of Dyslexia are difficulties in phonological awareness, memory and processing speed

About 4% of the population are significantly affected by Dyslexia and they can find difficulties in learning to read, write and spell as well as having difficulties in concentration, personal organisation and sequencing.

Dyslexia is best thought of as a learning difference and for many people it is about developing strategies and creating a 'toolbox' of helpful tools, including using technology, study skills and choosing the right qualified tutor for their specific needs.
